Cherokee Cares

Fund:  Cherokee Cares

Purpose:
Cherokee Cares is a heartfelt initiative of the Lake Cherokee Community Foundation (LCCF), created to support Shareholders within the Lake Cherokee community who are facing challenges or hardships. Our mission is to uplift neighbors in need by offering access to vital resources and compassionate assistance.

Who We Help:
Cherokee Cares will serve Shareholders experiencing:

  • Aging-related difficulties

  • Physical or mobility challenges

  • Temporary financial crises

Types of Support Available:
Resources may include:

  • Volunteer assistance

  • Professional services

  • Financial aid (as funds are available through LCCF)

How It Works:
A neighbor, family member, or Cherokee Water Company staff member may nominate a Shareholder by completing an application available on the Portal. To maintain privacy and fairness:

  • All applications are reviewed anonymously

  • A dedicated committee of fellow Shareholders will evaluate each request

  • The committee will make recommendations to the LCCF Board for funding and/or resource allocation based on established criteria

  • Once resources are allocated, the Committee Chair will notify the Shareholder receiving the assistance to schedule assistance.  Committee Chair will assign committee members and volunteers to each Cherokee Cares request.
